Websites and accessibility

When a website serves customers, residents or several teams, its design must work together with its content and technical implementation. We design a new site or redesign and agree on the scope of accessibility checks against WCAG.

Discuss your brief

Does this sound familiar?

  • Visitors cannot find the information they need or complete a task.
  • Content and forms work poorly on mobile devices or when enlarged.
  • Menus, dialogs or forms create barriers for keyboard users.
  • The site needs to connect to registers, booking tools or internal systems.

From a process to a solution.

The scope follows your brief. Together, we will prepare these steps and deliverables:

  • Content architecture and the design of the main user journeys.
  • Visual design, responsive templates and a content management system.
  • Integrations to suit the organisation's needs.
  • Accessibility improvements and agreed automated and manual checks.
  • Guidelines for editors, content migration and further development.

Questions about the solution.

What does an accessible website mean in practice?

Visitors must be able to understand the site and complete tasks using a keyboard, screen reader or enlarged display. We address structure, contrast, interaction, text alternatives and form errors.

Can a single automated test confirm accessibility?

Automated checks detect only some barriers. We supplement them with manual tests of selected journeys and assistive technologies within the agreed scope. Any claim of conformance must be based on the assessment results.

Can you improve an existing website?

We first map the templates and main user journeys. We then identify which barriers can be removed within the existing solution and which call for a larger change.
